Stevie Ray Vaughan was ahead of his time. This night in Tampa proved that. SRV and Double Trouble were the supporting band for pop stars Huey Lewis and the News. Although Stevie had a couple of hit songs by that time, the Tampa fans were not in the mood for his brand of blues and booed him off the stage.  Stevie threatened to walk off the stage “if one more person throws something up here”. At the end of the song, Huey Lewis came out and asked the crowd to show some respect for his guest and they obliged.
